Uniform & Equipment
We expect all students to wear the correct school uniform in the correct way at all times.
- Maroon school blazer, with the school logo (compulsory)
- A clip on school tie
- A plain white cotton school shirt or blouse that must be tucked in at all times and with the top button fastened
- ‘V’ neck black jumper with the school logo (this is optional and should not to be worn as an alternative to the school blazer)
- Approved tailored black school trousers or skirt
- Approved skirts must be on or just below the knee. School trousers must cover the ankles and cropped trousers and leggings are not permitted
- Plain black or white socks (no other colour or patterns are allowed) Plain black opaque tights may be worn with skirts
- Sensible plain black school shoes with no flashes or colours. Trainers or trainer style, canvas, high heeled shoes are not allowed
- Plain warm showerproof outdoor coat (Sweat shirt ‘hoodies’ may not be used as top coats and should not be worn at all for school)
- The only item of jewellery allowed is a wrist watch. Ear and nose piercings, necklaces and bracelets are not permitted.

The uniform is designed to be as low cost as possible and many items can be bought from most high street stores or supermarkets. However, we are aware of the issues that parents sometimes face with the expense of buying school uniform, particularly if you have multiple children at school. If you are having difficulty financially, please contact us for support.
Equipment
A school bag is a compulsory item and students must bring their bag to school with them every day. It is recommended that the school bag be large enough to carry books and a PE kit. When carrying PE kit a plastic carrier bag is advised to prevent potential damage to other contents of the bag.
Students must as a minimum have the following items with them at all times:
- Black/blue Pen(s) (for completing school work and homework)
- Red pens (s) (for correcting, improving work, re-drafting work)
- Pencil(s)
- Ruler
- Calculator – suitable for Maths lessons
General Points
- Brightly coloured T-shirts should not be worn underneath shirts.
- Make up and coloured nail polish should not be worn to school. This includes false nails, false eye lashes and false tan.
- Students are allowed to wear a wristwatch but no other jewellery of any description may be worn.
- All students are expected to have a smart, business-like appearance. Extreme hairstyles will not be permitted. Students with hairstyles/cuts which have any part that is shaved at less than a number ‘2’ may be isolated. Tramlines/patterns are not permitted. Hair colouring and highlights need to be a natural colour that blends with the students’ normal hair colour. Hair ornaments, if worn, must be unobtrusive in colour and design.
- Mobile phones must not be seen or heard during the school day. If used they will be confiscated until the end of the school day.
- If students wear incorrect footwear without an appropriate medical reason they will be provided with suitable footwear to wear for the day.
- Fizzy drinks and energy drinks are not permitted in school and will be confiscated.
- Any items which are brought into school which are not considered age appropriate will be confiscated.
