Student Council

The student council at our college is a dedicated group of representatives from all year groups, that ensure every student's voice is heard and valued. Meeting once every half-term, the council discuss key themes and issues, exploring ways to support staff, students and selected charities. They play a vital role in fostering a positive and inclusive college environment, providing an invaluable platform for student voice. Council meeting minutes are shared with the Principal, ensuring transparency and reinforcing the importance of collaboration and meaningful change. Its work not only enhances the school experience but also teaches members valuable leadership skills. Students interested in joining the school council should speak to Miss Mir- smi@hathershaw.org.uk

Student Ambassadors

Our Student Ambassadors play a vital role in supporting students, staff, and parents across a variety  of school events, including open evening, whole-school parents' evenings, KS2 transition days and homework clubs. They work closely with the student council to organise and deliver fundraising events as part of the Hathershaw Acts of Charity and Kindness initiative, fostering a spirit of community. New applications are welcomed throughout Y10, allowing students to join this rewarding program, while in Year 11 existing ambassadors can apply to become Senior Student Ambassadors, taking on additional leadership responsibilities. Y10 students interested in joining the leadership team should submit an application to Miss Mir.
